Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced duo to live on and manage our 320-acre guest ranch. This unique property, surrounded entirely by the Giant Sequoia National Monument, boasts a myriad of natural wonders from cascading waterfalls to pristine streams. After 3 years of refurbishment and a significant investment in improved infrastructure, we are proud to offer four cozy cabins ready for guest accommodations for the first time.
About the Ranch:
- 4 rental cabins, one owner’s cabin, one property manager’s cabin, and a ranch office / workshop facility
- 320-acre inholding 100% surrounded by Giant Sequoia National Monument
- Paved forest road access 12 miles down a dead-end road with no neighboring properties
- 4 seasons with mild winters at 5,000 ft elevation
- Multiple large waterfalls and stream flow in and out of the property
- Private trail access to Kern River and world-class fishing
- Helipad and helicopter hangar
- Fully off-grid with robust new solar power plant capable of charging electric vehicles and heating all homes
- Very remote. 1-hour drive to the nearest groceries in Kernville, CA. 2 hours from Bakersfield
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Relations & Airbnb Management: Oversee Airbnb rentals 7 days a week, from bookings and guest communications to check-ins/check-outs and guest services during their stay
- Housekeeping: Clean cabins between guest stays
- General Administration: Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to the ranch and Airbnb business, maintaining a high standard of professionalism
- Property Maintenance & Upkeep: Ensure the ranch, its cabins, equipment, and surrounding areas are well-maintained, safe, and presentable at all times
- Regular Reporting: Provide periodic updates and reports to the property owner regarding the status, bookings, maintenance issues, and any other pertinent matters
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with managing Airbnb rentals, guest relations, and hospitality
- Extensive experience in property management or caretaking, preferably in a similar remote setting
- Ability to thrive in an isolated area where self-sufficiency is essential
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks and the use of related tools/equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to manage varied tasks and to address unexpected issues efficiently
