General Ranch Hand Position
Responsibilities:
- Perform general ranch work, varying by season. Primary responsibilities will be managing the irrigation using siderolls/ pivots/ flood, stacking hay, fence maintenance, and tractor maintenance. Also some feeding with tractor/bale bed, calving work, corral work with cattle, and trailing cattle.
- Some riding work available but this is not a cowboying job. Riding and cattle work can vary depending on applicants’ interest/ability. Summers are primarily involved with irrigation and stacking hay. Applicants must be interested in running the irrigation side of the ranch.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work unsupervised and efficiently.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Physical agility to bend, squat, and kneel as necessary.
- Proficiency in working within a team environment.
- Competence in operating a four-wheeler.
- Enjoyment and experience in working with cattle a plus.
- Confidence in performing basic tractor maintenance.
- Experience with irrigation a huge plus.
- Experience with barbed wire fencing a huge plus.
- An interest in low-stress stock handling a must.
- Interest in regenerative practices would be huge benefit.
Additional Information: Compensation will be dependent on experience. We do not offer on-ranch housing but salary will reflect local housing market (we are very near several towns)… applicants must be able to secure their own housing. Family friendly, and located near good Wyoming school district.
