My second set of hands. Our farm life is a busy life and Mom needs help as well! We have a large kitchen garden along with orchard. We have a busy house as we are a homeschool family and I need someone who has extreme attention to detail that can help me on the days I am swamped in the house with schooling, making cheese, organizing, cleaning, laundry and keeping a neat house. When not in the house then focusing on our kitchen garden and orchards. We are not a cowboy ranch. We are a classic Americana Farm. Every day is a new project and we are striving to build a once in a lifetime family farm that incorporates American values, family values and stewardship to the Earth. Our goal is to create a self sustainable farm in all ways.
Housing is included and access to our gardens, milk, eggs along with the rights to hunt deer and turkey on our land during season.
Skills needed include attention to detail housekeeping, a love of organization, a love of cooking, a strong understanding of gardening, chicken and duck care and once in a while stepping in to help with milking. It is farm life so you never know what you are going to need to do.
Personal characteristics should include a great sense of humor, hard working, being able to work independently and also in a group setting. Having a sense of personal pride and knowing that this life on the farm is not just about work but creating a space to grow and find like minded individuals who are tired of the way the world is currently running. We want respectful individuals who can see the big picture and not get bogged down with the details.
Please no families at this time. We just don’t have the right housing for a full family. Shared caretakers quarters with two full time farm hands + 2 dogs. Will consider a couple if it is the right fit especially if there is a strong background in planting and orchards. We are not comfortable bringing on anyone’s private livestock or large animals.
This is our private home. We are very particular about who we hire and who we want around our children and ourselves. A full background check is required. NO VAX REQUIRED! Must have your own car. Looking for someone who wants a long term position please.
