Farm and ranch looking for an energetic employee to help with flood irrigation, harvesting of barley, wheat, corn, hay and sugar beets.
The successful applicant will help process and manage a 275 pair cattle herd and a winter feedlot operation of 800-900 calves.
This position pays $2,000-$2,500 DOE per month plus non-smoking housing, utilities, renter’s insurance, monthly cell phone fee, a work vehicle, up to one beef per year, 4 personal leave days and one week paid vacation after 6 months.
The work week is 6 days and will include Sundays at times, especially during harvests and calving. The farming takes up 80% and the ranching 20%. Wrangling is mostly on an ATV.
Applicant MUST have a valid driver’s license and it MUST be in your possession. Successful applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds and be capable of hard, physical labor in any weather. Experience is preferred in the operation of 4-wheelers, 10, 13 & 15 speed tandem axle farm trucks, JD and Case tractors and pickups with manual transmission.
Experience also preferred in cattle management and in irrigation.
