Ranch/Farm Associate needed.

Chicaro Heritage Farms is committed to a homestead style of ranching that takes into account an understanding of the land’s natural resources, an understanding of animal dynamics, particularly those of cattle, with a priority of building healthy soil through rotational grazing.

Primary duties include: rotationally graze and care for specialty homestead cattle, irrigate pastures with big reel irrigation systems, maintain all fences (high tensile and barb wire), and manage cattle when rotated through range land. Skills and previous experience in routine maintenance and repairs of tractors and machinery desirable but not required. Individual must be able to work independently but also be a good team player. Other duties may include working with horses, chickens, turkeys, “garden pigs”, and vegetable gardens.

Chicaro Heritage Farms does not use conventional ranching techniques like round-ups and hot branding. Cattle are worked with low-stress techniques.

Housing and utilities included. Additional options include space for personal gardens as well as a fenced area for goats or chickens.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle and be willing to undergo a background check.
Chicaro Heritage Farms is a non-smoking ranch and no smoking is allowed on the premises or in the buildings. Excessive alcohol use or illegal use of drugs is strictly prohibited.
Dogs and a horse are allowed with refundable security deposit.
