We run a boarding business with some training as well as a small cow-calf operation. This person needs to be able to interact with clients as well as work around horses and cattle with ease.
The position mainly consists of:
General ranch maintenance: Building and repairing fence, irrigation of pastures, landscaping, check water and fence lines, knowledge of electric fence helpful
Operating equipment: tractors, irrigation equipment; Machinery maintenance use and repair.
Assist with some daily care of horses: feeding, turnout, cleaning stalls, assist with holding horses for veterinarian and blacksmith. Assist with shoeing.
Position could include riding based on applicant’s experience.
We are looking to find dedicated individual that has been in the horse industry long enough to know the basics but it still trainable for a permanent long term, year-round position. You should know feeding & general horse care and be able to adapt to a new situation and procedures.
Working long hours is not only part of the job, it is the job.
