Help wanted on progressive, diversified, family owned farm/ranch.
We are looking for a motivated, hard-working employee to help with or manage our cattle herd. The ranch is located near Hoven, SD, 15 miles from the Missouri River with lots of hunting and fishing opportunities in the area.
Responsibilities on the cattle side would include calving, feeding, fencing, monitoring herd and pasture health, planning summer and fall grazing rotations, haying and general repairs. Cattle responsibilities would be approximately 60% -70% of the job.
The remaining 30%-40% would be helping with the farming side of the operation including driving truck, working on machinery and operating machinery.
As a business, we believe in learning and will provide opportunities for training and continuing education. We would provide a vehicle and a healthcare stipend.
We currently do not have housing available but would do our best to provide housing that meets the needs of our employee. Wages and benefits will depend on experience and willingness to commit long term.
We would be willing to train the right person, but would prefer experience in managing and handling cattle as well as experience driving truck. CDL is preferred, but not required.
Salary: $13-$18/hour + $500 monthly healthcare stipend + overtime + other benefits
