The 357 Ranch
We are looking for a ranch hand(s) for our 350 acre ranch in the hills of Texas. We are located about an hour from the DFW metro area.
This position does include housing in your own place on the ranch (kitchen, laundry, internet, etc), RV or trailer space if needed, storage, and pay that will meet your requirements. Animals and reasonable relocation fees will be considered.
The position consists of the following:
- Overall looking after the ranch which consists of 2 houses, 3 guest houses, multiple full RV spaces for our guests, several barns and workshops.
- Looking after livestock, poultry, and dogs when we are out of town. The cattle manage themselves for the most part, so the day to day is collecting eggs from the coop, keeping the chickens fed and watered, and taking care of our other animals when we are off the ranch.
- Light maintenance on all the heavy equipment (gas, grease, power washing, running weekly). This includes tractors to skid steers, excavators to bulldozers (If you don’t know how to maintain and operate, training will be provided. Mobile mechanics take care of all the “heavy” stuff).
- Helping maintain fences and other structures around the ranch.
- Maintaining 2 pools (just doing a quick brush and chemical check each week as they have auto cleaners).
- Landscaping (around the houses and shops). This is using the tractor, riding mower, weed whackers, blower).
- Helping maintain riding and hiking trails, roads, gun ranges, etc
- Going to town to get supplies for the ranch.
- Communicating with contractors and vendors when they are doing projects on the ranch.
For the last several years I have taken care of the ranch on my own. So this is definitely something that another person can manage, especially with our help.
Couples applications will be accepted as other duties and compensation can be added.
No drugs or smoking. We will require a drug test and background check (not all offenses are disqualifying) before the end of the hiring process.
