Experienced ranch hand needed to work on very well-kept southern CA ranch.
Horse care, barn care, upkeep and maintenance of property and machinery operation. Organization and cleanliness are a must.
Daily responsibilities are feeding horses twice a day. Good with supplements. Managing and ordering feed, shavings. Person will need to be on the property early in the AM and again in the early PM, putting out hay to the horses and cleaning stalls and turnouts. Must be able to operate farm equipment. Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment, fences, repairs to barns and buildings and the land.
This is a small quiet family ranch tucked behind the Temecula Wine Country of southern California. The family lives on the premises. Nice housing is provided. There are never more than 7 horses at a time. Horses on our property receive the best of care. The ranch does occasionally board horses to select individuals. We sometimes provide layup care. This is a drama free family ranch. No drugs or drinking on site. No smoking inside the living quarters.
There is possible employment in town at our local family business. The housing covers the work for the amount of horses we allow on the property so the individual will need a supplemental income. We have found this position to be ideal for someone who is retired, loves animals, and would like a slower pace of life in a happy environment. You must have a reliable vehicle and current DL as town is 20 min away.
