Fruitful Earth Farms produces pasture-raised beef and lamb using regenerative agriculture practices. The ranch hand will us assist us in taking care of the needs of our pasture-based livestock and general farm upkeep and needs.
Responsibilities will consist of:
- Animal care
- Moving temporary electric fences according to rotational grazing schedules
- Maintenance of pastures, including spraying weeds and fence lines, planting seasonal pastures, etc.
- Build and maintain fences, including electric fences.
- Work with PVC pipe including repair
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist in home deliveries of online orders, as needed
Qualifications:
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Comfortable around livestock (cattle, horses, dogs, sheep, chickens, etc.)
- Dependable, observant, strong work ethic, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Adaptable and able to rearrange workdays as priorities shift on a any given day and/or with changes in season, etc.
- Clean driving record. Able to drive a trailer, flatbed and livestock trailer.
- Experience operating farm equipment, including a stick shift tractor
- Able to operate and maintain a chainsaw and extended chainsaw
- Able to maintain farm equipment (oil change, filters, grease fittings)
- Able to drive and maintain a zero-turn mower
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to work in the US
- Successful completion of background check and drug testing. Subject to routine drug testing.
