Remote ranch, one hour South of Dillon, MT. looking for a long term employee.
We are a verified natural cow/calf and yearling operation. We are a fourth generation family owned and operated ranch. Position includes feeding and doctoring care of up to 450 yearling steers in feedlot from weaning to Spring turn out in May.
You would be calving up to 220 cows April thru the end of May. You would have the sole responsibility for all of the feed lot animals and cows at your location and the equipment maintenance.
As with most ranch jobs, fencing and moving cattle to different pastures and some haying is also a part of the position. We move cattle horseback the majority of the time, however, we do use 4 wheelers from time to time depending on the season, terrain and for all of the fencing.
We run our cattle in Big Country and riding experience is a must due to the steep mountain terrain. We have a couple ranch horses that could go with this position, however, if you have a few head of your own for work purposes they are welcome.

We do not rope the steers in the feed lot, we walk them into a head catch in the calving barn. The feed lot animals are a large part of this job.
You must be in good physical shape, this is a large ranch and horseback riding and 4 wheeler use is an everyday occurrence.
