Equine Program Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Pay Range: $51,000 – $57,000
Full Time Position

You would be integral in facilitating connection with guests by eating meals with them, sharing your story, listening to them, and spending time engaging at the evening activities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the Bar W’s Wrangler team, guest equine activities & venues as well as our horses.
  • The Bar W prioritizes safety so operating and acting with safety as a priority is crucial.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead, manage and hold accountable the members of your team.
  • Execute and maintain equine department Policies and Procedures
  • Management of Ranch Horse Trainer and Head Wrangler.
  • Assist General Manager and Owners in developing and executing equine activities and rides for guests.
  • Ensure Wrangler team is properly hired and trained in guest safety.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of health records for all horses, including vaccinations, medical treatments, and hoof care needs.
  • Source and maintain inventory of hay and feed to ensure the quantities for the ranch herd and other livestock.
  • Responsible for managing and continuously improving the ranch herd in conjunction with Owners.
  • Oversight of the corral, fencing, pastures, and arenas.
  • Ability to drive truck & trailer as well as horse drawn wagons and sleighs.

Personal requirements:

  • The ability to engage in conversations with the guests.
  • Basic computer skills – Excel, Word
  • Maintain a presentable western cowhand image around guests.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • A skilled rider with a working knowledge of horses, tack, and ranch work.
  • Be a self-starter and team player who can lead by example and capable of providing clear direction to wranglers, staff, and guests.
