Working with 4 other team members on a wildlife focused white-tailed deer ranch, NO Breeder Deer, NO Exotics, NO domestic Livestock, NO Commercial Hunters, we do have an intense DMP program with Wild Deer.
We hunt for 4-5 months each year to meet management goals and assist taking care of family that owns ranch with guests so that they can enjoy their time at the ranch.
Duties Include: cleaning water troughs, filling feeders, darting Wild Bucks with tracking darts for DMP program, administering vaccination shots to those deer, scoring deer, carrying deer on a gurney for several hundred yards through the brush.
Mowing, processing wildlife, harvesting management animals through MLDP program, repairing feeders, vacumming/cleaning deer blinds and windows, cleaning hunting vehicles, repairs and service items on equipment, operating heavy equipment, removing trash from guests hunting vehicles, restocking cooler with drinks, some guiding of a few guests
40 hour work week in the offseason: 60 – 70 hours of work during hunting season, some periods during darting of DMP we work 3 weeks straight
Working during Holidays may be required. Lifting 290 pound deer into hunting vehicle a must. Must be able to work outside in hot South TX sun.
Qualifications: Completed degree required in Wildlife related field.
No experience required, but experience can be a plus.
Salary: salary $60,000 including bonuses, plus $50,000 bonus after 5th year; 401K after 1st year of work matches 6%, vacation time, housing /electric/water provided.
