Kingsbury Ranch
We are seeking someone who loves working with and training hounds for hunting jackrabbits in the California desert. Experience would be nice, but not necessary if you have good basic dog skills and a willingness to learn.
Living on-site in a very nice fully furnished 1BR/1Bath apartment with full utilities & internet provided (excluding cell phone). Two days off per week, and 2 weeks paid vacation after 6 months of employment. Pay commensurate with experience level.
Duties to include daily care and training of hounds, working with puppies, cleaning, feeding etc. Depending on skill level, you would also start hunting the hounds as a small pack in the fall/winter hunting season.
We are located in the high desert of southern CA. Our ranch is 2.5 hrs NE of Los Angeles, and 2 hrs E of Bakersfield on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Local area has 30,000 people and includes all the usual amenities (shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, etc). In addition to hunting, we also train and show our hounds in AKC dog shows, so if you have an interest in that we would be happy to teach you.
