POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ranch Manager performs and participates in ranch operations including the maintenance, management, development, and coordination of agricultural, riparian, conservation and recreational/hospitality programs at a 1,600-acre single-family recreational ranch, located near Boulder, Colorado.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Ranch Manager participates in and oversees agricultural, recreational/hospitality and conservation operations for the ranch. The Ranch Manager (an individual or couple with no children) is required to live on the property year-round and is responsible for ensuring that all facilities, grounds, and equipment are well maintained, clean, and well organized. The Ranch Manager will manage hospitality and coordinate on-site logistics for the owner (does not live full-time on the property) and guests on the property, including preparing facilities, ensuring safety, and greeting visitors. The Ranch Manager will manage livestock grazing operations, fisheries, agriculture and forest with consideration toward maintaining or improving the environmental condition of the ranch. The Ranch Manager will be required to manage water rights and government affairs with state of Colorado, Boulder County, city of Boulder, and United States Forest Service. The Ranch Manager will coordinate with agricultural lessee(s), tenants, partners, and supervise contractors and other ranch employees as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in ranch management and/or hospitality.
• Experience in operating various types of equipment and machinery (trucks, ATV/UTVs, mowers, chainsaws, generators, pumps, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner or an interest developing the necessary skills to do so.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Ability to perform physical work, sometimes under adverse conditions or in inclement weather.
• Ability to manage and complete diverse tasks independently with respect to timelines and budgets.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Relationship building skills to work closely with a variety of partners.
• Working knowledge of common software applications (Microsoft Office, web browsers, etc.) and GPS hardware. Ability to perform office work for ranch management reporting purposes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
Salaried position with benefits and housing provided. Compensation commensurate with experience.
