Looking for a camp chef/cook to work on a Private Ranch in beautiful North Park Colorado. Operation runs between 75 – 85 hunting client per year, group sizes from 6 up to 16.
Looking for a strong individual who can work well with our team of fun/experience guides as well as the owner, must be self-motivated, very neat & clean, can take direction where needed, and can make decisions on own where needed. Larger group experience preferred and a great love of the outdoors. Competitive compensation plan includes all meals, lodging in private quarters, bonus based on performance, terrific tips, and an opportunity to harvest a cow elk if desired. Would need to provide a resume/cover sheet, pass a background check, and provide references upon request.
Must possess great customer satisfaction skills, love the outdoor life style, can cook using a variety of tools including oven/stove, grill, outdoor fire pit. Must be able to provide healthy options, gluten free options, can prepare both pre-cooked meals as well as fresh home made meals. In addition, baking, deserts, salads, homemade soups, rolls, and breads are required.
Breakfast venue – Continental self-serve, along with breakfast burritos, sandwiches, as well as full breakfast later in the morning for guests and tagged out clients. Person would help serve coffee and breakfast early, then serve later in the morning to any guests or clients who have tagged out early in their hunt.
Supper Venue – Largest meal in the middle of the day, between noon and 1:30 consisting of grilled/smoked meats, salads, homemade rolls/bread, oven or crock pot meals, and desert.
Dinner Venue – Times must be flexible according to evening hunting schedule, looking for lite fare, appetizers (Meat, cheese, veggie trays), homemade soups/chili, crock pot meals, or grill options along with desert.
Other duties to include cleaning and support around the lodge when not cooking, helping owner/operator with day to day operations, grocery store runs, and snow removal around the lodge sidewalks during winter months. Guides/owner will also help and support you in your duties.
Time frame is from August 10 – November 18 with some breaks in between seasons. Have a current cook who is willing to help, just cannot handle all the hours and group sizes on her own.
Salary: $1,200 – $1,500/month + Tips + Performance Bonus
