El Corazon Ranch
The El Corazon Ranch is a 1,700 acre low-fence hunting, farming and cattle ranch located in the heart of South Texas. Located just 5 minutes from Refugio, access to town is easy. It has been continuously owned by the same family for almost 140 years. We are looking for a qualified ranch hand who will live and work on the property
The job will be twofold. On one hand, the person will work for the cattle and farm lessee providing general ranch hand duties to include feeding livestock, operating farm and ranch equipment, Shredding, harvesting assistance, and ranch repairs. The other duties will be to the owner of the ranch assisting with the upkeep of the 40 acre headquarters portion. Duties include mowing, shredding, cutting firewood, insuring that vehicles are in working order, gassing up equipment, basic household repairs, keeping vehicles and ATV's clean, cleaning up after the owners leave, and other general maintenance activities. The ability to provide high quality guest service to the owners and guests of the ranch is required.
Housing on property is required. House is 3/4 bedroom 2 bath cowboy house. Utilities are included.
The right person for the job must be honest, dependable and motivated to work long hours and with enough self-discipline to complete tasks without being told exactly what to do. Candidate must have a valid drivers license, previous ranching experience, strong work ethic and provide excellent references from other jobs.
If candidate is married and wife would like to clean houses, then there is additional compensation for each cleaning. There are four houses on the property that will require cleaning after use by large hunting parties.
Salary: $12.00 per hour plus housing and monthly bonus – free housing and utilities.
