Dusty Creek Land & Cattle
We are looking for a dedicated mechanic to join our farm team. Our operation runs primarily John Deere equipment with GPS, and the role includes minor to moderate repairs and maintenance of combines, drills, planters, headers, and semis. Engine or transmission overhauls are not required.
When not performing mechanic duties, you’ll assist with general farm operations, which include working with our gentle cattle and operating John Deere equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a John Deere mechanic or similar.
- A farm background is a plus.
- Ideal for someone who has considered running their own mechanic shop but is seeking a different opportunity.
Expected hours: 40-70 per week with rotational time off
Cattle Work Description:
- Daily feeding, watering, checking health, calving, doctoring of cow/calf herd
- Fence maintenance, gathering and moving livestock (with ATV and pickup)
Farm Work Description:
- Machinery operation – skid steer, truck, tractor, grain cart, planter, drill, sprayer, loader, feed truck
- Dryland crop practices – no-till farming, spraying, planting, drilling and harvesting
General Experience Preferred:
- Mowing, weed-eating and general maintenance of residential properties
- Familiarity with grain elevator operating is a plus
- Welding and general construction skills are a plus
Requirements:
- Must be able to take initiative and anticipate the next step.
- Must be able to take direction and have good communication skills.
- Must be dependable.
