Seeking an Assistant Ranch Manager or part of a Ranch Couple to perform the hands-on duties related to a 4,500 acre cattle ranch outside Missoula, Montana. Ranch Assistant will be the right hand man to the long time Ranch Manager. Must have excellent cattle and ranching experience including but not limited to; performing calving duties, feeding, supplementing minerals, haying, pasture management, rotating stock, basic doctoring abilities, and maintaining health and growth of cattle in a safe and respectful manner. Must have working knowledge and ability to operate all ranching and farming equipment including irrigation systems which consist of wheel lines and electric pumps.
The ranch currently has 600 head of Red Angus and has a Wagyu breeding program that consists of Full Blood Donors, seed stock, flushing and genetic sales; specializes in F-1 production as well. The assistant should have either a degree in animal science or capable of AI duties.
Housing is provided on-site, excellent health insurance, a ranch truck and beef provided for the right long-term, hard working rancher that truly understands this lifestyle. This is full-time position requiring flexibility and willingness to work long hours depending on the season. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
