
Parker County Arena
The Arena Facilities Manager is a hands-on, working position responsible for the daily management, scheduling, and upkeep of the arena, stall barn, and general grounds of the Parker County Arena.
This includes working with the V.P. – Operations and General Manager on budget, sales, and marketing to attract events to the facility. It also includes working to identify maintenance and preventative repair on equipment and infrastructure at the arena, as well as risk assessment and oversight of scheduled events.
Position also includes the marketing of the PCA, development of sponsorships to advance the financial viability of the PCA and its events in the North Texas equestrian community.
Responsibilities (included, but not limited to the following):
- Scheduling and coordinating all livestock, equine, and special events in the arena.
- Operation of concessions – including but not limited to ordering products, preparing menu items, updating digital screen system, coordinating staff, vendors and volunteer organizations.
- Oversee daily operations, setups, and preparation for events.
- Develop a strategic plan for Social Media and maintain regular updates.
- Work with GM to develop a marketing program to attract events to the arena.
- Work with all employees and volunteers to set up and clean up after events.
- Work with the GM to develop strategic plans for Social Media and maintain regular updates.
- Work with the GM to create and post media for PCA Marquee, Digital Screens, and Website
- Administer a budget for the arena.
- Develop a strong working relationship with the community, media and event participants.
- Make human resource decisions on full time and part time staff; included but not limited to hiring, training, and termination.
- Demonstrate, by personal example, the desired standards of conduct and work.
- Be a spokesperson for PCA, including media interviews, meetings, local clubs, event participants, etc.
- Be able to set up different panels, chutes and other equipment to meet the needs of the participants
Ideal Background and Skill Set
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Event Management and/or Promotions
- Knowledge of livestock industry for marketing and competitive markets
- Have working knowledge of Concession Management and Operations
- Strong tractor skills and the ability to maintain arena footing.
- Knowledge of equestrian events, livestock shows, trade shows.
- Knowledge of computer programs and other skills; including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Publisher
- Be able to learn software databases quickly and efficiently.
- Demonstrate professionalism.
- Able to work with different clientele dynamics.
- Able to speak effectively before any size group.
- Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
Physical Requirements (include but not limited to)
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs
- Ability to climb a ladder, operate tractors and normal arena equipment.
- Able to work any and all days including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to support PCA events and operations.
- Ability to stand on one’s feet for multiple hours at a time.
- Ability to pass a random drug test.
- Maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License
Education requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
