We have two jobs to fill, and prefer a couple, however willing to consider a single person who is able to do all of the duties of both jobs. The second job listed below is very few hours weekly. Please read whole ad before applying.
Seeking workers for two jobs, both part time. Our preference is a couple, with both people able to work. This is a “package deal” as all of the duties will need to be done by whomever is hired, whether that is a single or couple.
Job 1: Animal Care. Requires feeding a variety of animals twice daily, manure removal, being observant for illness, etc. 30 hrs/wk, possibility of more hours. Weekend is necessary. Feeding takes approx. 2 hrs AM and PM, some days you may have work in between, other days not. Must be able to lift 100 lb bales of hay and several 30-35 lb feed buckets, plus feed bags weighing up to 80 lbs.
Significant horsecare experience is absolutely necessary – the ability to recognize colic and lameness, treat wounds, etc. You must also have the ability and willingness to communicate. Our focus is on prevention of problems. We seek someone who can be alert, observant and present.
Position involves manure removal by fork, shovel and tractor, cleaning/checking/filling water tanks, and other ranch duties as worker is capable. There is no horseback riding involved in this job. You will be taking care of a variety of species to include horses, donkeys, mules, goats, geese and chickens. If you understand what “gentling” of untouched equines is, and have gentle means, we may have some hours for you to do this also.
We seek workers who are willing and able to participate in a training program to learn the ways we operate. Our feed schedule is complex, and individually tailored to each animal. This is not a “throw hay over the fence” type of job.
Job 2: Cleaning for a B & B, weekend work necessary. Seeking detail oriented worker, capable of cleaning, to include making beds, doing laundry, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning floors, dusting, etc. You must have the ability to work in an efficient and thorough fashion. Work will depend upon occupancy. Please recognize we are a low-volume B & B and there may be times of no work.
Location: rural mountains south of Tucson. Cooler than Tucson by 10-15 degrees.

These are paid positions, with compensation dependent upon if you need housing, your abilities, experience, etc:
– Two days off (together if you are a couple).
– We prefer you bring your own RV. We will supply full hook-ups and will discuss this compensation prior to hiring.
– If you need housing, an RV can be provided for a maximum of two people working onsite. Please understand there will be less pay if we supply you with utilities and a place to live. No pets in our RV.
– We cannot accommodate children or your own livestock.
– No smoking, no spitting tobacco, no drugs, and no heavy alcohol use.
We seek workers who are emotionally and mentally stable and mature, who can manage their emotions without blow ups and melt downs, be able to accept feedback, and be capable of following directions and working independently once trained. Workers must be able to get along with others, including those in a supervisory capacity. You must be able to get up in the morning, maintain a schedule, follow directions, and be respectful.
Prefer long-term employees, however seasonal may be considered. We are seeking someone to start ASAP.
