Second Cook Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation & Service: Assist with food prep, cooking, and serving meals while maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including washing pots, pans, and utensils.
- Independent Work: The second cook may be tasked with preparing and serving at least one meal per day independently, without the direct supervision of the first cook or kitchen manager.
- Relief for First Cook: On the first cook’s day off, the second cook will assume full kitchen responsibilities, ensuring that all meals are prepared and served according to camp standards.
- Supervision: In collaboration with the first cook, supervise kitchen assistants, campers, and staff who assist with kitchen duties, ensuring proper food safety, cleanliness, and efficient operations.
- Camper Engagement: Occasionally, the second cook may lead cooking or kitchen-related activities for campers, fostering a hands-on learning environment.

Qualification
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older, with a strong desire to contribute to a dynamic and supportive team environment.
- Culinary Education: Training in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred, providing a solid foundation for kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Passion for Outdoor Living: Enthusiasm for living and working in an outdoor, camp environment. This role is perfect for those who enjoy nature, outdoor activities, and the unique challenges of camp life.
- Kitchen Experience: Prior experience working in a kitchen or food service setting is essential. Previous experience with large-scale meal prep or in a team-based kitchen environment is a plus.
- Strong Communication & Problem-Solving Skills: Must be a proactive communicator, able to collaborate effectively with staff, campers, and supervisors. Creativity and the ability to solve problems in high-pressure situations are crucial to thrive in this dynamic environment.
Salary Range: $5,500- $7,000 *depending on skills and experience (includes room and board)
May 31, 2025- August 17, 2025 (extended contract may be available)
