24 year old female from New Zealand, working/traveling around the US looking (I already have a visa) for work in agriculture preferably on a ranch or farm. I grew up on a small sheep, beef and cropping farm in New Zealand where I have helped out for as long as I can remember. Before arriving in America I was working a 900 cow dairy farm for over a year and I have also completed a Bachelor of Agriculture.
In terms of experience:
– I have worked with sheep, cattle and pigs
– animal health: vaccinating, drenching, administering medications
– feeding stock: whether feeding supplementary feed or moving fences so stock can have a fresh break
– calving and lambing experience
– nursing/feeding orphaned stock
– milking cows
– milk plant cleaning
– tractor driving – basic cultivation, loading silage wagon, feeding out supplementary feed through silage wagon
– irrigation
– fencing: fence repairs and break fencing
– general farm duties
– basic horse experience
– Full New Zealand license
Currently working on a guest ranch as a waitress and will be available from 10th October onwards.
