This position is ideal for an individual that wants to continue to develop their baking and cooking skills in a busy guest ranch kitchen. This a full-time, seasonal position beginning in mid-April and ending in late November. We are looking for someone that can successfully bake breads and desserts at a high altitude, has good knife skills to prep vegetables, and can prepare side dishes, salads, etc. in a timely manner, as assigned by the ranch executive and sous chefs. Knowledge of safe food handling practices is imperative, as well as holding a current Colorado Safe Food Handlers card (or ability to do so). It is preferred that this person would have some experience working in a commercial kitchen. It is extremely important that they can work in a team situation in a calm, professional manner, even during busy times. Other duties with this position may include dishwashing, kitchen cleaning and deep cleaning, taking inventory, organizing fridge, freezer and cabinet areas. This position often presents meals to guests, so we are looking for someone that is confident and well-spoken and can interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Compensation includes a salary (paid bi-weekly) based on a 40-45 work week that is set based on experience, housing (no family housing available), share of tip pool, meals and performance-based end of season bonus. This position has a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts so early mornings and late evenings for closing shifts should be expected. A flexible schedule is a must.
The ranch is located at high elevation in a somewhat remote location. Applicants should be familiar and comfortable living and working at this type of location.
