Overview:
We’re assembling a tough, dedicated crew for an epic season in Idaho’s remote wilderness. We’re hiring Packers, Camp Jacks, and Hunting Guides ready to spend long hours in the saddle, riding through rugged, untamed country. If you thrive in challenging conditions, love working with horses, and have a passion for the wild, this is your shot to join an elite backcountry team.
Positions and Responsibilities:
1. Hunting Guides
- Lead clients on hunts through vast, remote Idaho wilderness terrain.
- Navigate challenging landscapes while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
- Share expertise on game, tracking, and survival in extreme conditions.
- Keep clients motivated and engaged during long days on horseback.
2. Camp Jacks
- Set up and manage campsites in isolated, rugged locations.
- Handle cooking, cleanup, and camp maintenance after long rides.
- Assist the team with logistics, ensuring smooth operations in the wild.
- Keep camp functional and organized under demanding circumstances.
3. Packers
- Manage packing and unpacking gear with horses and mules over rough trails.
- Care for pack animals—feeding, grooming, and monitoring their condition.
- Haul supplies and equipment through Idaho’s most remote wilderness stretches.
- Coordinate with guides for efficient travel and load management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience riding horses for extended periods in rough terrain.
- Comfortable with long hours in the saddle and physically demanding work.
- Familiarity with Idaho’s remote wilderness or similar settings (preferred).
- Knowledge of pack animal care and handling (Packers especially).
- Team player with grit, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
- Valid hunting license or ability to obtain one (Guides only).
- First aid skills are a bonus.
