
Timberghost
We are currently interviewing for an open guide position for the 2025 Fall Season. This is a seasonal job lasting from ~August 10 through December 1. We have a large whitetail hunting operation in Southeast Iowa that deals both with free range hunting on 4,500 acres and preserve hunting on 1,000 acres of high fence property. We have a medium sized breeding facility to help impact the hunting ranch and have been in business since 2000. We run a first-class operation and have a very good reputation as one of the best in the industry. Room and board is part of the package.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- General ranch clean up and maintenance of fences and grounds
- Assist with stand placement/ preparation for hunting season
- Maintenance and upkeep of ranch equipment and vehicles
- Filling and maintaining protein and corn feeders
- Assist with any other ranch duties as assigned by management
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and other company guests
- Depending on abilities and work ethic, potentially guide some clients in and/or outside the preserve
- This is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week schedule so we work when and as needed…there is no time off unless approved by management
- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and experience is what this opportunity is all about so will consider any applications, but if working toward a degree in wildlife management or other program with the goal of managing a hunting operation in the future a plus, especially if through a school intern programs.
- Guiding and Hunting experience a plus
- Experience with a whitetail breeding operation a plus
- Experience with equipment and equipment maintenance a plus

- Physically able to work long hours at 100%
- Ability to communicate well with others and take instruction, as well as constructive criticism, in order to become a more valuable asset over the time of your employment
