Located in the beautiful foothills of Golden, CO just outside of Denver, Colorado.
Join our team as a motivated, self-starter ready to start the day as a CATTLE Ranch Hand and immerse yourself in the daily operations of our thriving small ranch. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the ranch’s operations and ensuring the well-being of our animals, equipment, fencing buildings and property.
As a ranch hand with experience with cattle, calving season (March-July), horses (mucking stalls) and equipment, there is a basic ranch daily routine of caring for animals and property with a mixture of changing duties depending on seasonality and maintenance need of the ranch and animals.
This is a basic list of duties with more details to follow upon interview.
Duties:
- Self-starter is a must and able to knock out daily list and see other priorities and take initiative.
- Strong communication skills.
- Cattle experience required (3-5 seasons minimum)
- Operate and maintain equipment to support daily ranch activities. Tractors/skid steer
- Snow removal – Operate snowplowing equipment
- Manure spreading
- Rodent control
- Tagging and immunization of cattle.
- Rotating cattle to different fields.
- Field and fence maintenance.
- Utilize power tools for various ranch maintenance tasks, clean after use and maintain.
- Equipment and animal record keeping
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining trucks, backhoe, ATV, tractors, chainsaw, etc.
- Experience in animal handling and care, particularly with cattle/calving.
- Ability to effectively use power tools for maintenance tasks.
- Strong understanding of basic math principles for inventory management and chemical applications.
- Passion for working on a ranch environment and with animals.
