Chris G.
Howdy;
My name is Chris and I am seeking a manager/foreman position in Texas on a ranch focused on hunting & wildlife management. Most of my 20+ years of experience has been managing hunting ranches and recreational properties in South Texas, with the last 5 years being in Montana & Colorado. I received my BSA in Range & Wildlife Management from Texas A&M University Kingsville in 2010. I am currently in the NW Colorado high country overseeing a co-op of 13 recreational ranches ranging from 60-400 acres. I’ve committed to remain in my current position through this coming May when winter conditions subside enough to train my successor.
The majority of my experience has been focused on developing and implementing intensive management plans that bring a ranch to its full potential for producing trophy whitetail, as well as improving opportunities for other native species such as quail, turkey, dove, etc. While wildlife management is a major aspect of running this type of property, it is only one part of what makes a ranch enjoyable and successful for the owners and guests. My role is not just to provide a memorable hunting experience, it is to protect and add value to what is most likely one of your largest investments.
Notable Experience:
- Equipment operation & maintenance (Tractor, skid steer, excavator, maintainer, bulldozer, etc.)
- Infrastructure maintenance (Buildings, fences, HVAC, water/irrigation systems, roads, electrical & plumbing)
- Pond/Fishery management
- Grazing management
- Former TPWD Hunter Education Instructor
- Mechanical & chemical brush control
- Comfortable working as an individual or part of a team
I am seeking a position that includes housing. No wife or kids, just myself and a well-mannered dog.
