Are you passionate about ranching and ready to take on a leadership role? We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Working Rancher to oversee operations on nearly 10,000 controlled-acre ranch nestled in the stunning foothills of Boise, Idaho.

About Us: Our ranch is home to up to 300 cattle and embodies a commitment to sustainability, stewardship, and the Western way of life. We’re looking for a hands-on manager who will thrive in this beautiful and rewarding environment while fully embracing the ranch’s mission and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Cattle Management: Oversee all aspects of cattle operations, including calving, medical treatments, branding, and herd health.
Awareness and Planning: Monitor and manage ranch feed resources, including commodities, hay, and pasture grazing, to facilitate harvest and production demands.
Property Maintenance: Work with others to maintain ranch infrastructure, including fences, corrals, water systems, and equipment.
Operational Leadership: Plan and execute daily ranch activities, coordinating with ranch staff as needed.
Resource Management: Monitor pasture health, manage grazing rotations, and ensure optimal use of the ranch’s natural resources.
Commitment to Excellence: Fully invest in the success of the ranch and its programs, demonstrating dedication to its long-term vision and growth.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in cattle ranching, including herd management and property maintenance.
Strong leadership and organizational skills with a hands-on approach.
Ability to operate and maintain ranch equipment and vehicles.
Knowledge of sustainable ranching practices and resource management.
Physical ability to perform the demanding tasks of ranching.
Pleasant and adaptable interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience managing a ranch of similar scale.
Familiarity with cattle, pasture management, and water systems.
Basic veterinary skills.
Basic understanding of inventory processes.
Experience with welding, repairs of equipment, and operating common farming equipment
