The Darwin Ranch is looking for people to join our 12 person crew for the 2025 summer/fall season. Set just outside of Jackson, WY, our small, remote, family-owned and operated guest ranch offers guests hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and farm-to-table dining using ingredients supplied by our family ranch and nearby farms.

Darwin is looking for people who are hard-working, attentive, take initiative, and embody community. Our crew needs to be able to thrive in a tight-knit community, get along well with diverse age groups, and enjoy living in a remote, high-mountain location. The Assistant Cook job entails working with two other cooks to prepare three meals a day. This includes breakfast, packed lunch, dinner, as well as snacks, pastries, and other prepared food items provided to guests and fellow crew members. Daily responsibilities include arriving at work promptly, preparing coffee and other warm beverages in the morning, followed by serving breakfast at the appointed time. Packed lunches will be assembled and ready for guests to take with them after their breakfast. A fully stocked snack bar will be available to guests at all hours of the day. Hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and dessert will be the final task to finish each day. The ability to have meals prepped in a timely fashion is required in order for guests to have optimal time to fulfil their daily desires. Employees must be adaptive to constructive criticism, and must maintain a positive, motivated attitude in order to perform to the high standards of the Darwin Ranch. Basic and fundamental culinary skills are required, and a willingness to listen and learn is crucial. Don’t take yourself too seriously, but do your job with passion, good humor, and a desire to constantly improve on a daily basis. Hospitality skills are pertinent to providing the guests at Darwin Ranch with an experience they will always remember. The person in this position should be prepared to do plenty of dishes along the way.

Base salary is $2.5k/month, plus $800-$3,000 tips/month
