Job Summary

As an animal husbandry worker, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility, including animal care, barn management, and pasture supervision. This role involves managing the health and care programs for animals, ensuring proper maintenance of the facilities, and implementing safety protocols. A successful candidate will ensure a high standard of care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Barn Management: Oversee the daily operations of the barns, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.
  • Animal Care: Manage the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of all animals in the facility.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Pasture Supervision: Observer, manage and improve all pastures, to eliminate hazards, ensure cleanliness, fence line maintenance, and safety for all animals on the farm.
  • Logistics and Supplies: Transport or arrange for transport of animals, equipment, food, and supplies to and from work sites or veterinary visits. Handle the purchasing of animals, feed, and other necessary supplies.
  • Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols to ensure the well-being of staff and animals.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures related to animal care and facility management.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in animal management.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Local travel will be required
  • Animal Care: Strong background in horse care and health management.
  • Facility Management: Proven experience in managing animal facilities.
  • Team Player: Demonstrate the ability to work with a team or autonomous with open communication and a team mentality.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
