Ranch Hand Position Available on Private Family Ranch (Full-Time)
Located just south of Dallas, TX
We are seeking a full-time Ranch Hand to join our team. This position requires weekend work and is ideal for a single individual, age 21 or older. Fully furnished housing and utilities are provided, with time off during the week. 4 years of experience preferred.
Position Overview:
The Ranch Hand will work closely with the Ranch Manager in all aspects of ranch maintenance. We are looking for someone experienced with Western pleasure horses and skilled in all areas of horsemanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grooming, saddling, riding, and feeding a small group of ranch horses.
- Mucking stalls, cleaning water troughs, and feeding livestock (cattle, goats, chickens, etc.).
- Mowing, dragging the arena, and performing light tractor work.
- Basic fence and equipment maintenance.
- Handling firearms safely when necessary.
Requirements:
- Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Preference will be given to candidates from Texas.
- Must be comfortable with firearms and ranch life.
- Experience with Western pleasure horses is essential.
- Must be in good physical condition to handle manual labor and long hours.
- Ability to recognize and respond to health issues in livestock.
- Basic handyman skills for minor ranch repairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Must pass a drug screening and background check.
Additional Information:
- A personal vehicle is preferred for off-ranch errands or trips.
- Fully furnished housing and utilities are provided.
- Over 4 years experience preferred.
