Our family is looking for a full-time person to assist us with day-to-day operations on our 160-acre yak ranch near Gould, CO. Applicants should be honest, self-motivated, and dependable. They need to be well versed with operating chainsaws, felling dead trees, and cutting up timber. They also need to be competent in maintaining and building new fence. Applicants must be capable of heavy lifting requirements.
The ranch is located at 9,000 feet elevation. Winters are long, cold, and snowy; and snow removal and road upkeep are priority. Applicant should be proficient in operating farm machinery and heavy equipment, as well as having a mechanical aptitude for equipment repair.
Also helpful would be experience or knowledge in some of the following areas:
Animal husbandry, Welding, Electrical, Carpentry/Sawmill, Organic gardening, Building/maintaining trails, and Water/pond management.
We see this position as being ideal for an individual (although we would consider a couple) who loves the outdoors and remote country living. No smoking or drug use (legal or otherwise) will be accepted.
