Husband & Wife Team Needed at South Texas Recreational Ranch
Join Our Family and Manage One of South Texas’ Finest Ranches
We are seeking a dedicated husband and wife team to become part of our family and manage our beautiful 1,200-acre recreational ranch. Located between Woodsboro and Sinton, Texas, this ranch features two lakes over 25 acres each, 2.5 miles of the Aransas River, four houses, essential ranch equipment, and a light cattle operation. Primarily used for recreation, our ranch prides itself on maintaining a conservative, family-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Daily Operations: Oversee the daily care and maintenance of the ranch and its facilities, guided by detailed checklists. This is the primary management task but is not a full-time requirement, allowing time for other duties.
- Project Management: Collaborate on and execute various project-based tasks.
- Land and Facility Maintenance: Care for the land, repair fences, perform seasonal shredding, maintain roads, check and repair the ranch water system, fill feeders, and maintain ranch property and vehicles.
- Light Cooking: Occasionally prepare meals.
- Exotic Deer Program: Assist in starting and managing an exotic deer program for recreational hunting.
- Household Maintenance: Maintain and clean all household and facility areas to hotel-quality standards.
- Supervision: Hire and supervise outside labor and vendors.
- Organization: Organize and maintain tools, equipment, barns, and facility items.
- Security: Perform basic security and surveillance tasks.
- Landscaping: Manage all landscaping and irrigation systems.
- Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in monitoring ranch deer, guiding hunters, and cleaning animals during hunting season.
- Cattle Care: Take care of 70+ head of cattle and wean calves.
- Additional Tasks: Assist with work on various other properties and construction projects.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tractors, shredders, skid steers, and other ranch equipment.
- Holiday and Weekend Work: Be available for work during holidays and weekends.
Skills and Qualifications
- Land and Garden Care: Prior experience in land, garden, tree care, and irrigation systems.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computers.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
- Technical Skills: Competence in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and operating, maintaining, and repairing farm equipment.
- Animal Care: Understanding of animal pen maintenance.
- Background Check: Must pass a full background check and have a clean driving record.
- Physical Health: Must be in good physical health to perform job responsibilities.
