Florida Tortoise Breeders
We are a small farm for Giant tortoises and Lizards looking for a diligent, responsible Groundskeeper or Maintenance worker.
We are in SW Ranches (Florida); applicants must live close to Davie, Weston or the Pembroke Pines area
20 Hours, Mornings: 5 days per week
Starting Pay:
No experience first 30 days $12.00.per hour / $14.00 per hour after 60 days /$15.00 after 6 months
Experiences working with reptiles first 60 days 14.00 per hour. $1.00 raise after 60 days. ($15.00 hr total)
Other work related experience in the industry taken into consideration for additional pay.
Required duties:
Cleaning Huts, raking yards, cleaning water and feed bowls, disinfecting cages, huts, and enclosures. Feeding the animals.
We also do a lot of grounds maintenance work, sodding pens, moving sand in a wheelbarrow, moving rock with a wheelbarrow. It’s hot, hard work at times.
Working hours are affected by weather, rain or cold.
Additional hours may be required during the laying season, Cold fronts, hurricanes, and emergencies.
Best Skills to have:
Outdoor landscaping, Groundskeeper, Experience working with Reptiles, Tortoise or Iguanas.
