Private Montana ranch seeking a full-time seasonal wrangler. Dates flexible, May through August. This person will be working independently. Primary responsibilities are to wrangle and ride horses each day. Must have well above average horsemanship and training skills. Competent in the round pen and in the back country. Work with all ranch horses (11 geldings) to improve their ground handling skills and manners. Ride and evaluate each horse, recommending suitability for all levels of riding skill. Other ranch duties include fixing fence, monitoring steers and other duties as required.
Must have flexibility in work schedule including evenings and weekends. Room and board provided.
REQUIREMENTS
- Able to work independently
- Able to take directions
- Basic CPR and First Aid (Training is provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Smoke/Vape/Drug Free workplace
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs
- Current driver’s license. Pass a background check
- Must be 18 years of age
- Legal to work in the US
Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience working with horses and riders and at least two riding references. May request a riding video.
