A farm property for retired horses in Southeastern Wisconsin is seeking to hire a Horse Farm Manager to oversee operations and the care of a herd of up to 22 horses. This professional will replace the farm manager who is retiring after many years. Must be a skilled rider who is knowledgeable in equine health practices and be able to identity when a veterinarian is needed to provide specialized care to the horses.
Primary responsibilities will include keeping records on all of the horses, maintaining inventories of supplies, hands-on upkeep of horse stalls, care of pastures, and upkeep of farm equipment. Additional administrative and management responsibilities will be needed as well as supervising, directing, and overseeing other farm staff.
This is a full-time, year round, live-on position. Generally a Monday through Friday schedule. Compensation up to $65,000 to $75,000 offered, depending on experience, with a benefits package. Live-on-property accommodations offered: either a three-bedroom house or a spacious studio loft apartment available on the property with paid utilities (pets welcome on the farm!). Flexible start date available.
