Have a background in ranch and farm work, from manual labor to payroll and accounting. I started a natural beef sales program from scratch, developed the marketing aspect, including a website and online store, and sold direct to consumers via phone, internet, and farmers markets. I also managed the cattle records as well as herd health and hands-on work—I can work cattle on foot or horseback, I’ve doctored, calved and tagged, planned and implemented rotational grazing (and cover crops for forage), and anything that arose as needed. I’ve tracked, tested, and sold hay and forage inventory; managed water use records; tracked various crops for costs including seed, planting, hand labor, water, and fertilizer. I can run various types of equipment, including tractors, feed/mixer wagon, bale chopper, ATVs, water trucks and 10-wheelers.
In office work I have managed payroll, written monthly bills (most familiar with Quickbooks), creating filing and organization systems, and also performed HR responsibilities such as onboarding new employees, planning and conducting safety meetings, and dealing with workers comp and medical emergencies on the job site; I have experience with the H2A foreign workers program and requirements as well.
I have past experience as a waitress, housekeeper, and hostess, so I pride myself on dealing well with the public in general and coworkers in particular.
I’m a fast learner, and I believe in pride in one’s work and taking ownership of the work one performs.
