Focus Ranch
Focus Ranch is historically a working cattle / guest ranch but is currently only operating as a yearling cattle ranch. We are located on the Colorado/Wyoming border with land in both states. Steamboat Springs is 50 miles from our location.The yearling cattle are primarily run on both private and forest permit land (Medicine Bow National Forest)in Wyoming. We also run a small number of cow/calf pairs. The Little Snake River flows through the property for approximately 3 miles and is world class trout stream on our property. We are looking for an individual who is willing to assist with the daily needs of maintaining a clean ranch environment both indoors and outside, enjoys working with horses and is a competent rider, might like to help with cattle, would like living on a ranch and not mind the daily tasks of barnyard chores, helping with domestic duties and the other daily chores of a household.
The position is diversified and enables one to use their skills in a variety of areas. Ideal for someone interested in the ranching lifestyle and seeking a realistic and holistic experience. We value enthusiastic, hard working, self-starters who are safety oriented and will take the initiative to problem solve. The ability to communicate well and make key observations is a must as well as working well with others. The job is demanding but for the right person, very rewarding when the positive outcomes are achieved.
We hire a staff of about 7. The work is diversified depending on the daily priorities. Our staff wear many hats and are expected to help wherever needed.
This position includes housing provided onsite and home-cooked meals . Other perks include high speed internet, laundry facilities and satellite tv. There may be an opportunity to remain employed year round.
Days off: 1 and 1/2 per week
No housing available for families.
No pets allowed.
Vehicle is recommended but not required.
