We are looking for an energetic individual to join our kitchen staff in the cook position. All our kitchen staff enjoys interacting with our guests when serving meals. Customer service is a top priority for our team.
Firesteel Creek Hunting Lodge is a small family owned pheasant hunting business 20+ years we have a 90% return rate of guests. We are located about a 100 miles west of Sioux Falls SD in Plankinton SD. Our hunting season runs Mid September to Mid December.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare 2 meals per day ( 20-25 people guests + staff) plus appetizers.
- Meals are home cooked with fresh breads, desserts and vegetables.
- Soups are served for lunch when the weather turns cold usually at least half way through our season.
- Meals are plated when served.
- Meal times Breakfast 8:00am, appetizers 3:30pm and dinner 6:30pm
- Your main responsibility is cooking kitchen staff assists in serving and clean up.
- Food Ordering and Food Inventory
- Maintain Health standards.
Qualifications:
- Kitchen experience with a desire to cook.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment & utensils
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Ability to be on your feet long periods of time
- Current Serve Safe Food Handlers Certification

- No pets allowed
- Our hunting season runs mid September to mid December. We have weekend groups Thursday-Sunday occasionally with have a few groups during the week also.
