Jeremy W.
Hello. I am an experienced business manager and operations director. I have thirteen years experience running various size crews in several different fields (more on each below). I have been responsible for budgets as large at $800-million annually, while working as the Director of Finance for the Wyoming Department of Education. I have managed as many as 50-staff with multiple supervisors reporting directly to me. I have a bachelor's degree and a juris doctorate from the University of Wyoming. While I currently live in Cheyenne, Wyoming, I have recently left my position with the State and am ready to relocate about anywhere in the West. I am eager to put my business management experience to work for your operation.
I am seeking an opportunity to work full-time on a ranch. My passion lies in the outdoors and I miss my time working my own, small hobby ranch (40-acres). I am experienced in working on many types of motors and equipment, including small engine, tractors, gas, and diesel. I previously held a class-A commercial driver's license, with tanker and hazmat endorsements. Prior to that, I was a conductor for the Union Pacific railroad. I can run about any equipment – large or small – and know how important quality maintenance is for any size operation. I also briefly worked in the oilfields of North Dakota (Bakken formation) as a hydraulic fracturing pump operator. I am no stranger to a hard day's work and pride myself on a strong work ethic.
My business experience is vast. I began working in the retail banking field in 1993 as a teller, and worked my way up to personal lender, branch manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Audit executive. I have worked for large banks (US Bank, NationsBank, and First Interstate Bank) and smaller community banks. I became very experience in Ag and small-business lending during my time working in the finance arena. I then transitioned to non-profit work, running the state-funded Wyoming Foreclosure Hotline after the 2008 mortgage crisis. Finally, I moved into the government sector, working for the State of Wyoming Auditor's Office and the Department of Education.
I am ready to bring my savvy for budgeting, finance, accounting, and Human Resource management to your farm or ranch. Not only do I understand the ranch lifestyle and work requirements, but I also bring knowledge of the business side: regulatory compliance, state and federal government requirements, and sound accounting practices. I speak a little Spanish, too.
I am an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast. My passion is for bow-hunting elk in the Fall, along with fly-fishing in the Spring. I am most happy in the mountains or anywhere folks appreciate the rural lifestyle. I look forward to speaking with you about your needs and what I can bring to your team. Please email me and I will gladly send you my phone number. I am available immediately and am happy to travel to your location for a face-to-face meeting.
Thank you.
