Whistling Elk Ranch
We are looking for 2 full-time employees here at the Whistling Elk Ranch in northern Colorado. The qualified couple will be physically fit, personable and outgoing, have a good sense of humor, and feel passionate about ranch life. Our ranch is comprised of over 5,000 acres of mixed-use land, including hay, livestock, including elk and bison.
We are looking for an intermediate fill of these positions.
Ranch hand position would be helping us with the daily chores and everything else that goes along with this. Skills needed are basic ranch skills including equipment operation and maintenance, building maintenance and repair, fencing and land management, haying and animal care. Modern and up to date John Deere equipment. We use ATV’s and UTV”s for the majority, with some work completed on horseback.
Responsibilities of the housekeeper would be foremost to clean our six cabins we offer to guests. A 2 night minimum is required, most guests stay 2 – 3 nights, so it isn’t a nightly turnover like a motel. Housekeeper would also make sure common areas are tidy. Some light office work, some light yard work. Cooking experience a plus, not a must though.
A valid driver’s license is required, must be drug free.
Housing is provided in the form of a small apartment on the ranch suitable for two. All utilities paid. $10 per hour, 40 per week, plus some OT during our busy season.
