Large outfit hiring now! Looking for experienced all around Ranch Hand ( this is not a manager position ) in Montana near the Teton Mountains on over 50,000 acres. We run Cow/Calf have our own Bulls, and we run Sheep all of which in large numbers. We do all our own haying.
We use Horses and 4 wheelers, we also use Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD) for sheep and we shepherd sheep. We rotate pastures moving all livestock ( Bulls, Cows, calves and sheep as needed. We use Border Collies for working dogs.
Duties are all around whatever needs to be done…fencing, care of all livestock, doctoring, calving, lambing, tagging, branding, feeding, infrastructure, grounds keeping, weed eating and general care of property. We also do haying which is seasonal using newer GPS systems state of the art John Deere equipment etc..
We are looking for a long-term person to add our hard-working, easy to get along with crew. Who understands long hours and days, is flexible, responsible can work alone or along side others. We work in Cold or Hot weather, as livestock are 24 /7.
This is not an equine center!!, there are no arenas! this is a Working Ranch.
Please apply only if you have 2+ years experience in real Agriculture/Ranching and must have all the basic knowledge of being a “Ranch Hand” we will train a portion with newer Tractors and in the area of Sheep category.
