Fantasy Island is a gorgeous 30 acre working farm located in the heart of Central Vermont. We have many animals ranging from beautiful pheasants, chickens, ducks and peacocks to cows, alpacas, llamas, mini horses, and big draft horses. So many more in between. We take pride in providing the best care for the land and our animals throughout the year in all the seasons. The farm is a family retreat as well as a working Airbnb, corporate and social event grounds. We are continuously expanding, adding more attractions to the farm and more animals to the pack! We hope to find a person(s) that is just as passionate as we are about the place and looking to better it each day.
Looking for a Property Caretaker(s) to oversee and execute the daily operations and tasks of the property.
Full-time, live-in property caretaker (or daily, living off-site) position caring for a 30-acre property that is a corporate and family retreat. The owners are long term employers who use the residence on the property throughout the year for business and personally. The property is used for corporate, social and family events.
You will provide ongoing maintenance, repair, remodeling and care of the property. The caretaker(s) will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Mowing Lawns
- Gardening
- Painting
- Cleaning of Main House/Guest House
- Guest Interactions
- Cleaning/Maintaining Animal Corrals
- Feeding/Taking Care of Animals
- Riding/Training the Horses
- Building/Repairing Buildings on Property
- Building/Repairing Fence Line
- Cleaning Garage Buildings and Barns
- Snow Removal in Winter Months
- Basic Plumbing and Electrical Repairs
- Enforce Rules and Regulations
- Perform Equipment Maintenance
- Diagnose Problems and Contact the Appropriate Vendor(s)
**The Caretaker must be mechanically inclined and experienced in mechanical repairs (i.e. small engines), repair work and lawn/outdoor land maintenance. The Caretaker will work on projects to update the buildings on the property (renovation work) and will complete these projects themselves and contract out when needed (e.g. electrical, plumbing work). Must have a knowledge of horses and animals, as well as riding.**
Candidate must be a self-starter with great attention to detail. The caretaker must be aware of their limitations and meticulous in their actions to avoid causing larger issues. This property is seeking a long-term caretaker that can step into and keep it running.
