William P.
Hi, my name is William P. I grew up on a ranch, in West Texas, my granddad was the fireman of the hot wells ranch near VanHorn. I was taught to rope and ride horse, although admittedly it has been awhile, so my riding and ground work and roping would need a bit of dusting off. I was taught that a mans word is a mans word, and that if you’re going to work, you should work and and do the best job you can. We checked daily the windmills, and we checked water, fence, and the cattle everyday. I’m very responsible I don’t drink or smoke or go out partying. I have two big dogs and one very small very old dog and I take care of my disabled mother, who needs help so they would need to come with me, as they are not just a responsibility, they're family.
I have worked in extreme heat, extreme cold, humidity, and dry heat. Since 2014, I had been working on the railroad up in the pacific northwest full time, working in Montana, Washington, North Dakota, and Idaho. The railroad wasn’t the most stable job and we would get furloughed or laid off frequently, and during my first year, I worked a ranch in North Dakota for a small time, and eventually chased work with the railroad all the way to Chicago. I had been working in Idaho, living in a fifth wheel, and as work was falling off, I had chased all the way to western Washington to try and stay working, but then the pandemic hit and I moved back home when I got laid off and got my cdl back and I was driving truck Otr since June 2020, but my mom needed more and more help so I have taken off to help her full time. There is a gap in my work history, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working , I’ve been taking care of her and helping her as much as possible, which is hard work in itself.
The house we have rented the last almost 12 years has been sold and we need a place and since my mom needs extra help, a position like this would be ideal, as I would be close to home to help and still able to work. I am 45, and even though it’s been awhile, I can ride a horse, I’m good at fixing fence, I can run a skid steer, have my cdl, and I have run a couple of the bigger tractors and a feeder wagon. Never got to run the big farm equipment tractors but I can learn. I am good with animals, especially dogs and horses, I love animals and respect them, even cattle which are not smart, but do deserve humane treatment and respect, especially since they can be a source of income. My own dogs are very well trained, are great protectors and guard dogs, and would make a good addition as working dogs/guard dogs. As I said, I am responsible and hardworking and I am dependable. I will do my best to make a good hand I would appreciate your consideration for a job. Thank you very much.
Willing to Relocate: Arizona, Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Utah
