Ranch Description:
The ranch encompasses approximately 24,000 acres of deeded land and grazing leases. The owners are committed to conservation and improving the health of the land for wildlife and livestock through responsible grazing management.
The ranch utilizes its grass resources for the grazing of cattle, including: yearlings, pairs, and replacement heifers. The grazing season is carefully planned out each season to fully optimize forage resources while implementing strategic moves to improve range health through animal impact and appropriate rest. Cell grazing and extensive herding is used to achieve grazing objectives.
Critical to the success of the ranch operations are the infrastructure maintenance needs and the utilization of the irrigation water.
Responsibilities:
- Noxious weed identification
- Calving
- Pairing out
- Tagging calves
- Predator control
- Stock water management/maintenance
- Build and maintain fence to achieve grazing/wildlife objectives
- Daily rangeland health and utilization monitoring
- Herding to manage grazing objectives
- Safely and quietly pasture doctoring cattle
- Trail maintenance
- Irrigation of hay meadows
- Maintenance and repairs of equipment

The successful candidate should have the following work-related skills and abilities:
- Strong horsemanship skills, ability to ride long hours in rough terrain
- Low stress livestock handling experience
- Animal husbandry
- Ability to ride ATV
- Ability to drive pickup and pull long trailers
- Walking, hiking several miles in a day
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Willingness and ability to work long hours and do rigorous physical work
- Pasture Roping/Doctoring ability
- Fencing Experience
- Experience With flood irrigation
- Waterline and well maintenance
- Equipment Operation
- Mechanical
- Welding
Years of Experience preferred: 2 yrs
Compensation:
Competitive salary, Seasonal housing available, Season end bonus, Board for two personal using horses (no outside horses).
