Red Roof Ranch
Ranch manager needed for family-owned ranch in Elgin, TX. We are looking for someone who exemplifies honesty, focus, and diligent hard work. Ideally, this position is good for someone who is young and wanting agricultural experience to begin their career and keep costs low, or someone who is at/near retirement age, with relevant experience and looking for a very cost-effective way of living.
This position comes with a monthly cash stipend, full room/board in your own private, detached studio apartment, ranch truck, and cell phone. Your only expenses are food and cable.
We need someone who:
– Has the ability to independently identify problem areas and solve them.
– Can keep track of tasks in an organized fashion
– Self-starts projects and sees them through completion
– Has extreme attention to detail
Experience (in order of importance to us):
– Ranch/herd management and operations
– Pasture management (fencing, hay cutting, fertilizing, herd rotations)
– Fleet/diesel maintenance and upkeep
– Lawncare
– Welding
– Electrical
– Plumbing
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Daily oversight and maintenance of a 60+ herd of beef cattle
– Regular maintenance of ranch vehicles, tractors, trucks, trailers
– Summer grass cutting and trimming of lawns near main/guest homes
– Hay cutting and fertilization
– Misc property fixes (hose bibs, irrigation repair, well pump repair, etc)
