Equine Farm caretaker wanted for 115 acres 10 stall horse farm. Job is taking daily care of horses feeding twice per day must be experienced handling horses grooming cleaning feet, taking horses in and out to pasture. Daily stall cleaning mucking, placing shavings, changing water buckets daily use of John Deere gator utility vehicle with ease to use “newer speader” to dispose manure, shavings are in bags, maintaining grounds with string trimmer, scagg turn zero lawn mower, JD lawn mower and large JD tractor with rotary cutter.
Afternoons there is perimeter cutting of gated entrance, around horse and hay barns, arena and 2 mobile homes on property. No hay cutting of fields hay square bales are delivered and stacked in hay barn by deliver. Repairing fences and replacing boards on routine basis and use of concrete.
Full time 40 regular hours per week 8:30am-5:30pm with weekends 12-16 hrs paid at time and a half for basic are on weekends only of horses and stalls. Frequently but not always owners will do afternoon weekend care, however, one can expect at time to be working 7 days with lots of flexibility after completing barn care with slow winter periods. Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. and deal with disposing heavy pallets from a truck and haul other heavy trash to a dumpster which requires strength.
Job is living on property as its responsible caretaker in a quiet setting in a modern 3 bedroom mobile home with weather shelter with fenced back yard for children all amenities and utilities paid with free satellite TV and reimbursement of personal cell phone. It is expected the mobile home is maintained in pristine condition and damage will be removed from salary.
There are 2 weeks paid vacation only after 6 months. Farm is rural living with paved roads leading to it and short distance to gas, Wal Mart and I-49 highway. Sorry no pets, no horses and no hunting. Far as a cat and 5 free range hens who need daily feeding. Prefer couple or family.
