Santa Lucia Conservancy is seeking a person to join our team who is knowledgeable about cattle handling. This is a highly physical, field based position that will focus on the day-to-day operations of the Restoration Grazing Program. Most activities will be performed on foot, on steep terrain.
Duties include but are not limited to: build, maintain and repair portable electric fencing, corrals and water sources; safely operate and maintain vehicles, tractors, ATVs, UTVs and heavy equipment; vaccinate livestock and livestock care.
Livestock care and familiarity with low-stress handling and planned grazing experience is required.
A 2 to 4 year degree in Agriculture or Natural Resources is desirable and an interest in wildlife and native plant stewardship and conservation is highly encouraged.
Salary: $21/hr to $23/hr doe, full benefits – health, vision, dental, FSA, life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid holidays, vacation and sick time.
