My wife and I are in search of a Ranch/Farm Management or Ranch/Farm Caretaker position. This can either be a team effort or just a single position for myself.
I have over 30 years of Ag related experiences, from Farming (primarily hay production) irrigation to include flood, hand line, wheel line, and pivots. Livestock handling/raising (cows, pigs, sheep, chickens) and using land for self sufficiency. I owned my own business for 18 years, and have a strong business aptitude. I have overseen employees, worked with budgets and done lots of contract work. My skills are varied from mechanical maintenance on anything from small engine repair to large tractors/semi trucks. I can weld, and have great carpentry skills. I have experience with building many types of fence. I can cook (bbq), have a food handlers card, and have catered small (150 people events) for my kids school. I am an avid outdoorsman that loves to fish and hunt. I have experience operating large equipment, (dozer and grader limited) I also have limited knowledge of landscaping systems/irrigation systems.
My wife has over 20 years in the administration and book keeping field. She is very competent with computers. Can operate a vary of programs from quick-books, excel, power point and more. She has a keen eye for cleanliness and very organized. She, along with one of our daughters, live being in the kitchen making sweets.
Compensation is negotiable, along with full/part time. (I currently work a 3 week on and 3 week off schedule, and could possible integrate around that)
Housing would be great if included, but If suitable housing is attainable it’s not a necessity.
We would prefer in the Western US (MT, WY, CO, UT, ID, WA, OR) but willing to look elsewhere.
